Keeping Promises

Have you ever been promised something? Did you get it?

Promises can hype you up and produce excitement, but sometimes they aren’t fulfilled. The promise may have started with the best of intentions. It’s often the follow through that is the hard part.

We are all human. Promising things that are beyond your control sets you up for unmet results. We like to think we are in control of things, but God ultimately has the last word.

He is not human and His promises will never fail or fade away. Everything He says will come to pass will happen.

Knowing you can take Him at His word means you never have to waver on whether He will come through. He certainly will!

The process to get there is what is uncertain. Some we read about in the Bible didn’t live long enough to see what God had promised them, but it didn’t mean they stopped having faith that He would keep His word.

Pain can be a part of the process to His promises. When you pray for so long to have things fulfilled and endure so much to get there, it can feel like God’s dragging His feet or taking longer than He should.

But God’s timing is always perfect. He wouldn’t want to give you something if you weren’t ready for it or it wasn’t yet the time.

Even if you get impatient He never does. The waiting isn’t to punish you. It’s part of the process of living a life that fully relies on God.

When did you go through a time where you were waiting on an answer from God and you felt like He wasn’t listening?
