Comfort and Complacency

We all like to live in comfort. The thought of discomfort in any form makes us cringe.

We eat comfort foods, lounge in comfortable clothes, like the temperature we inhabit to be just right, and we even like to live in communities where we feel safe and “comfy.”

The familiar breeds comfort. When you’re comfortable you feel in control. But nothing that adds to your growth and purpose in Christ will ever happen inside your safe and controlled comfort zone.

It wouldn’t be called faith if it was easy or if you could see where each step would take you. Faith is believing in what you can’t see. Some people wonder how so many can believe in a God they can’t see.

I wonder how you could ever get through life by not believing in Him. Why do you think you’re here? Your answer to this question tells a lot about where you stand in your journey with Jesus.

No one is here on this earth just because. You have a purpose. God has given you specific gifts and talents and provided opportunities for you to develop skills to use for the calling He has planned for you.

God has everything in your life worked out before it even comes about. When you accept Christ to lead your life, you are in Him and He is in you. He will always be working in and through you for your good and His glory.

Stepping out of your comfort to follow Him won’t always be easy, but it’s worth it. You can’t do everything on your own strength. You need Jesus.

You need His strength in every area of your life. Because He is in you, you can do and get through everything you face. It is through His mighty strength that you live and breathe.

How can you step out of your comfort zone today and trust Him more?
