When you think of surrender you probably get an image of someone who has fought a good fight, can’t take any more, and has their hands up to let those on the other side know they can’t take anymore.
Surrender doesn’t necessarily show weakness. When it comes to surrendering your life to God, you’re admitting what you’ve been doing to get through life and just survive isn’t working anymore. You need help.
This act is one of humility and repentance to Him. He has so much more for you than what you’ve attained through your own strength.
Falling on your knees before our holy God is a sign of submission to His will and plan and a show of loyalty to who He is.
Submitting to Him isn’t about becoming His slave, but becoming His partner and friend. Jesus also submitted His life to the will of God.
It’s impossible to do what you want and to follow God’s purpose for you. I encourage you to surrender your life for the one He has for you.
His name alone is greater than anyone else’s and He is to be exalted above every earthly treasure you can ever earn.
