When you experience anything in your life, the first thing you probably do is talk to someone about it.
It’s important to seek wise counsel, but how do you know if your counsel is wise? Well, if you are only going to them because they will tell you what you want to hear, they probably aren’t the person you should be seeking for advice.
Wise counsel is someone who will speak the truth in love to you even if it’s tough to hear. He or she may not tell you what you want to hear, but they will tell you what you need to know.
The person to speak to first in all situations is unfortunately the last person many of us go to for help. Only God has perfect wisdom and understanding.
He was around before He formed the world and He will be in existence forever after it’s gone. God has been and always will be.
His experience goes beyond all your understanding and in every situation He knows the right road to take.
Learn to go to Him—that’s the first step. Then after you seek His counsel comes the hardest part. You don’t seek Him to ask for your will to be done in your life. You seek Him and ask for His will to be done.
Knowing He knows more than you allows you to accept His wisdom. Trust how He directs your path because only He knows where you need to go next.
Be ready at all times to go and do what He asks. This kind of faith goes along with the trust you have in Him.
Knowing His will and wisdom is above all else, how has He given you wise counsel in your life?
