There has been an increase in the amount of hate in this world. To me, there is no good reason to hate another person. My mom always used to say, “Saying you hate someone is like wishing they were dead.”
As a kid, that sticks with you, but what about as we get older? We are told as Christians that we are to be good to even those who hate us.
How hard do you find it to turn the other cheek? You try to be nice, knowing the person doesn’t care for you at all and then they throw another blow to your self-esteem.
Loving your enemies is hard, but shows that you value them as children of God just the same as yourself. What they did to you could be so bad and horrible it has scarred you emotionally.
Or maybe it was something so small and you feel better holding a grudge than to be the one who gives in to make things better. Let me tell you, this never makes anything better.
Let’s learn from Jesus and sprinkle God’s love around to everyone you meet. In a world, so full of hate and negativity, be the love and positivity that is so desperately needed.
When was there a time you had to be the better person and show someone God’s love even when you didn’t want to?
