Remember when you were a child and at some point confidently, or defiantly, proclaimed that you knew everything?
There is something to the concept that wisdom comes with age. Most five-year-old children think they do know everything.
Even at the young age of eighty, there is still learning taking place. There is never any time in life we will know it all.
But God does. Knowing He knows and sees everything can leave you in fear.
It’s a good thing to fear the Lord, but not by the well-known version of fear.
To fear God doesn’t mean you’re scared of Him. To fear Him means you have profound reverence and awe of Him.
You hold Him in high esteem because you know who He is and not just what He can do for you.
When you get to the point in your spiritual life where you fear the Lord in this way, it brings great wisdom.
You live knowing He is everything and without Him you wouldn’t even be here.
Living with this wisdom, allows you to gain His understanding and forsake—turn away from—evil.
Have you been living scared of God or in profound reverence and awe of who He is?
