Now What?

So Jesus Christ was born into this world. We celebrated His birthday and now what? The excitement and anticipation of yesterday is well yesterdays news, but is it?

Jesus didn’t come for the joy He could bring for one day. He came to give you the joy of the Lord for your whole lifetime. God delighted in sending His Son to live and die for you. It gave Him great joy to know you would be able to be in right relationship with Him again.

Accepting Christ isn’t about following rules, rituals, and doing everything right. It’s about living in relationship with God. Jesus is God incarnate so in accepting Christ as your Savior, you have accepted God as the Lord of your life.

His love for you is high, deep, and wide. It is meant to encompass all of you—every facet of your life. God’s great joy needs to become your great joy. God saw the coming of Christ as the highlight of your life even before you believed.

Every time you praise or give glory to God, you are showing true joy. Praise God by the way you live and in the way you worship Him. The shepherds on the night Christ was born were visited by an angel who told them not to be afraid because he was there to tell them Jesus had come—bringing great joy to the world.

Once the shepherds went and saw baby Jesus, they left praising and glorifying God for all they had seen. It was just as the Lord had told them. God’s joy became their joy.

They couldn’t wait to tell everyone about what they had seen. Now that you know about what a wonderful gift Jesus is, are you experiencing the joy of God? Are you telling others about this great joy?
