When is the last time you failed? No one wants to talk about it, but everyone experiences it. Sometimes you just sweep it under the rug and other times it’s so epic it alters your life.
You and I like to be seen as perfect people free from flaws and hang ups. But the reality is our lives are not the picture perfect social media image we portray them to be.
Pictures of birthdays, anniversaries, and other fun times line our feeds, but how often do you post about the trials and troubles you’re going through?
Some people do and they really put too much out there for others to comment, like, and send caring emojis. We all want to feel valid, but how far will you go to “cover up” the complete you?
Many in the Bible have had epic failings and God still used them to do great things—Abraham, David, and Moses to name a few.
If David could commit adultery and murder someone and still have Jesus, the Son of God, be born from his family line, then there is hope for you and me.
Every time you fail, it isn’t another mark on your record toward the disqualification for God to use you. Your missteps actually do just the opposite—they prepare and equip you to live the life God has planned for you. He is refining you until you shine like gold.
It’s time to be open and honest with one another. Nobody is perfect and we need to stop pretending to be.
When is a time God used a failing or testing to help you grow in Him?
