Have you ever witnessed a fire? It may have been an unfortunate decimation of a business or home or, if you live somewhere that hasn’t seen much rain, wildfires. Even a campfire is hard to take your eyes away from.
We are drawn to fire. Why? The deep intensity of the flame keeps you staring at it to see what it’ll do next. It begins as a small spark, but as it is fed it grows into a roaring fire. There is passion in the fire as outside elements such the wind also fan the flames.
When you commit your life to Christ and are baptized in water, His Spirit is imparted into you. This is like having fire shut up in your bones that you can’t contain. God wants you to keep this passionate flame ablaze as it will change your whole life.
His Spirit will help you to live by faith and encourage others around you to do the same. Once this fire is ignited within you, how can you keep it from going out?
His power and passion works through prayer, praise, and preaching. Pray daily to keep an open communication between you and God. Praise Him through the good and the bad and He will fill your life with immeasurable joy. Preach (teach) about Jesus to all you meet. This doesn’t mean you push yourself on people, but be open to the opportunities to share Him with others.
If you are able to do these things, the Holy fire inside of you will never go out. What are you doing to keep a passionate fire for God in your life?
