So many do things to be successful and praised for what they have done. They crave the kind words and being rewarded for what they’ve accomplished.
This isn't how your life was designed to be lived. The reason you’re here is because God created you with a purpose. Being born into a world of sin, it’s easier to gravitate toward self-satisfying and sinful desires—allowing our thoughts to lead our hearts astray.
The devil preys and works in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. Only God can change a heart. He tells us to guard our heart above everything else because all we do and say flows from it.
He wants you to invite Him into your heart by accepting the sacrifice of His Son Jesus. This sacrifice was done out of His great love for you and carried out because of His mercy. He knew we deserved death for the wages of our sin, but He stepped in.
Then Christ stepped up. You were saved by God’s grace—His unmerited favor. There is nothing you could have done to save yourself. There is only one way to heaven and that is through accepting and living for Jesus Christ.
We have been united with Christ. It’s because of Him you can fully experience God’s grace, mercy, and love. There is nothing more valuable than His grace for it covers all of your sins and mine. Through His death and resurrection He conquered the power of sin and death.
The same overcoming power is yours when you live for Christ. Your salvation isn’t a reward for anything you’ve done. It isn’t something to boast about, but instead to tell everyone about Him. It isn’t about you, but about how awesome God is.
