Have you ever anticipated something so much the feelings and emotions leading up to it were better than the actual event? This is so not how Christmas is in our house. The month or two leading up to Christmas is as joyous and eventful as the day itself.
Sure we like to see the children’s faces light up when they open their gifts, but the best gift we could ever give them is Jesus—it’s the only gift that lasts.
Sure they will remember the Christmas they got their favorite toy or the one they had asked for the most, but when you give them Jesus it is the eternal gift that will never leave them or forsake them.
Sometimes you will experience times of waiting in your walk with Christ, but things are all done in His time and not ours. Eagerly anticipating things to be perfect though will keep you from living your best life. Let’s face it, this world is not perfect and neither are we. Jesus came as a perfect, sinless sacrifice.
This is something we can never achieve and should not anticipate doing so. We wait for the perfect job, perfect spouse, perfect life. If we aren’t perfect how could we expect to find perfection in any of these things?
Hope though gives you the strength to carry on. Hope is possible when you’ve built your life on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ.
Some promises God makes you’ll not see in your lifetime but will come to fruition in generations to come. With God it’s not if but when we will see His promises come to pass.
Christ’s birth gave you the best and only opportunity for salvation. He is your saving grace because you’ve been saved by grace through His birth, death, and resurrection.
Your salvation has been made available long before you were even in existence. How does Jesus being born as the light of God to the nations encourage you today?
