Indecisive

We have a wooden sign in the bathroom that says, “I used to think I was indecisive, but not I’m not sure.” If you have trouble making even the simplest decisions, you’re in good company.

How you react to decision making says a lot about you. Some are quick to decide even if what they choose isn’t the best and will have consequences.

Others are planners and try to plan out every possible choice they could make along with what would happen if they made it. There is nothing wrong with thinking things out, but if you take so long to make a decision you begin to fear making a choice at all.

Fear has a way of paralyzing you and leaves you refusing to act at all. This isn’t good for anyone. Is there a happy medium? The good news is, yes.

The only way to take the pressure and fear off of making the wrong choice is to pray and ask God for His wisdom and direction to do what’s right. Only He can see the big picture and advise you to do what’s best in light of the future He has planned for you.

Some decisions like what to eat for lunch or what to wear today are things you can decide on your own. Other decisions that require more thought and can cause you stress and anxiety to figure them out.

The decision-making process should be a partnership between you and God. He knows more and understands infinitely greater than you could ever imagine. Whenever you find yourself worrying more it means you’re trusting God less.

Sometimes it’s easier said than done, but life will be so much easier on you if you fully rely on God. If you come to Him boldly in prayer and ask for His wise input, He will give it to you. He isn’t one to point fingers at you and let you know you’ve royally screwed up or are on the brink of doing so.

He will respond by filling you and calming you with His grace, peace, and love. So today, don’t stress about what you can’t control. Pray and let it go—give it to God.

What decisions do you need to pray for God to help you make? Lean into Him and listen for His leading in your life.
