Ever play hide-and-seek? If you really want to win you find the best hiding place no one will ever find.
Nine times out of ten though someone discovers your whereabouts. Sometimes as adults we still play this childhood game.
We hide from facing what’s really going on in our lives. Problems in your marriage or other relationships won’t just go away unless you face them.
Issues at work or the desire to live out dreams you’ve put aside won’t change unless you come out of hiding—being complacent for too long.
Are you hiding from God? When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit they knew they had done wrong so they hid from God. When He asked them, “Where are you?” He didn’t mean He couldn’t physically find them.
They had wandered spiritually and He was asking why they had strayed. When you’re hiding or even lost, God doesn’t ask for you to get your life right before He “finds” you.
All He wants is for you to come out of hiding and be honest with Him about what’s truly happening in your life. When you reach out to Him, He will meet you right where you are.
Find a few others too who you can be open and honest with and can hold you accountable when things don’t seem to be going well.
Allow yourself to be seen and found. Have you been honest with God about what’s going on in your life?
