When it comes to making a choice, there is usually a short window of time in which to decide. “Where should we go for dinner?” is usually asked as you’re on your way out of the house. The decision has to be made quick because to leave, you have to have a destination in mind.
So there is a time to make a decision, but there is also a time when making a decision is no longer a valid choice. When Pharaoh was asked by Moses to let the Israelites go free, he chose to let them go and then changed his mind not to—nine times! This ultimately led a bunch of Egyptians drowning in the Red Sea after they had chased after Moses and the Israelites to bring them back. It also led to Pharaoh’s firstborn son being killed, which left not family successor to the throne.
Why is all of this relevant to you and me? It just goes to show you that even the most powerful person at any given time can choose to not decide one way or the other about something or make a bad decision. I urge you, don’t do either of these things when it comes to choosing to follow Christ.
It is in no way a decision to make in haste because it’s important to fully understand what it means to give your life to Christ. However, there is no time like the present to consider what you will choose. There is a window of opportunity now, today, that may not be here tomorrow. Tomorrow is promised to no man. Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can decide today.
When Christ returns again, to which no one but God knows when that will be, will be too late to choose. Your window of opportunity will not be there anymore. This is why it’s an urgent matter for Christians to tell everyone they meet about how God has changed their life. Your life is your testimony!
Upon Christ’s return, every knee will bow to Him and everyone will realize that He is the Son of God, but will you be ready? There’s no time better than now! Tell one and tell all of God’s great love and mercy.
