We have all seen movies where someone saves someone else’s life and the person saved feels indebted to the saver. Maybe you can relate to this. Has someone ever stepped into a conversation or disagreement at just the right time and “saved” you?
You feel it in you to pay this person back somehow for what they have done. There is one person who took it upon Himself to save all of us. Adam and Eve came along and God put them in a perfect Garden to look after it. Their only stipulation was not to eat from a specific tree in the middle of the Garden. So what did they do? They ate from it. This one sin sent all humanity into a downward spiral that we would never be able to repair on our own.
God had a plan as He always does. He sent Jesus, His only Son, to come to earth as a man and die for everything we could ever do wrong—all our sins. Jesus never sinned, but willingly took on all of your sin and all of mine so that we could once again repair our relationship with God through His Son. All you have to do is accept Christ saving you!
This is the only way to heaven—through belief and acceptance of Christ. By accepting His saving grace, you should wish nothing more than to live for Him in return. Because of God’s mercy, you can please God by offering yourself as a living and holy sacrifice to Him. It is an act of true worship!
The life we have is not our own and we are called to live for Him in return. How are you choosing to live for Him in your daily life?
