Love One Another

One well-known Bible story is that of the good samaritan. There was a man who had been beaten, robbed of everything, and left for dead. Two people passed him before the third person had compassion and stopped. It’s harder in our day in age for people to stop and help someone. Why? Maybe it’s that some people don’t want to be inconvenienced or are afraid of being taken advantage of.

We all have a problem, to some extent, with time management. Our schedules are packed so full that we don’t leave time for the unexpected things in our day that God wants to do through us. It’s great to have a schedule or a to-do list, but if you truly are led by God in your every day life, you must leave time for God to do some unplanned things in your day.

Also, we have seen too many stories in the media about people scamming others to get things—pretending they are in need. Knowing these instances can happen shouldn’t stop us from having compassion and helping. Along with compassion though we need to use discernment. If we are to love others as God loves us, it has to be Him guiding us to do the right thing. Only He has the wisdom and discernment to show us what to do. The Holy Spirit lives in us and it’s because of this fact we can extend His love to others. How has God used you to reach someone in need?
