People often confuse popularity and influence. Popularity means we have followed the masses and are telling them what they want to hear, which makes us liked. When we are a person of influence, we stand on the truth no matter how countercultural it may be. How can we discern what truth is? Truth isn’t a thing. Truth is a person. The Bible says that Christ is truth and God’s Word is truth. So what we choose to stand up and shout to the masses is not as important as who we are standing on. His Word is true and choosing to do things His way gives us life! Can you think of a time when you stood up for Christ in truth—contrary to what others were doing/thinking around you?
