Who Do You Serve?

Everyone serves someone in their lives. Some always think of others first and live with a servant’s heart.

Others live their lives to serve their own interests—whatever helps them to get ahead of others. Bettering your position in life isn’t all bad, but always having a “me first” attitude can ruin relationships and harden your heart.

The question to ask yourself is, who do you serve? Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego knew they served God above all else.

They refused to worship the king and he had them thrown into a fiery, blazing hot furnace. Because they trusted God for their safety, He met them in the fire and saved them all.

Even when serving God and doing what He asks you to do isn’t the most popular option or be of any benefit to you, it is always the best option.

Choose to put God first because He put you first. He knew you had the potential to do great things so He sent His only Son to die so that you could live. Talk about putting others first!

How could you choose to put others first—even if it means giving up what you want to serve them?
