An eyewitness can be a game-changing asset in any situation. What is better than someone who can give a first-hand account of what they saw?
Children may or may not tell the truth when it comes to what they saw. They do have innocence as a child, but will sometimes fib the truth to protect a friend or if telling the truth would implicate they are guilty of something themselves.
However, in a court of law, eyewitnesses swear on the Holy Bible that what they testify is true. If they don’t, there are harsh consequences under the law.
Does the way you live, what you say and do, accurately testify to who Jesus is? As a Christ follower you cannot say you are a Christian and fully accept Christ if you are still living the life you did before accepting His saving grace.
The twelve disciples were eyewitnesses to the awesome life of Christ. Many of them wrote books of the Bible telling of their accounts. Some of the stories and testimonies in the Bible are not eyewitness accounts. The people who wrote them were not even there at the time the story happened.
So the question you’re probably asking is, “How then can we take these stories to be true?” God and Jesus exist as part of a divine trinity. God and Jesus are joined by the Holy Spirit.
When Jesus died and arose, He spoke to His disciples before ascending into heaven. He told them He was sending them an advocate to be with them and help them know what to do in life. This person was the Holy Spirit.
When you accept Christ and vow to live for Him, the Holy Spirit lives on the inside of you. He is with you always. So when we say that God is always with us, He is—in the form of the Holy Spirit.
As a friend of God and a follower of Christ, it is your mission to be a witness for them beginning right where you are.
You have the knowledge and the power of Christ on your side to tell everyone what He has done for you and for them. Your life is a testimony to the love and grace only He can provide. It’s up to you to be a witness to everyone you meet.
This is not always easy for us, but it is necessary if you are to live like Christ. Don’t be afraid or ashamed to tell everyone about Him!
What is holding you back from telling everyone you know about Jesus?
