We live in a flawed and fallen world. I would like to provide some reassurance and tell you that one day everyone will live in peace and harmony everywhere, but in reality this is a false sense of hope the world tries to make us believe is possible.
Don’t get me wrong, who doesn’t want world peace? It sure would solve so many problems. The flaw in this hope is that God gave us the free will to make our own choices. He gave us all this ability because He wanted us to choose to follow Christ and not be made to follow Him.
Making the choice to follow Him is an act of surrender because you are saying to Him that you believe you were made with a purpose—made for more.
When you have this made for more mindset, it’s easier to combat the things in our lives that cause us to fear or doubt God’s goodness. You may not be able to create world peace, but you sure can start right where you are with your own thoughts, actions, and words.
Jesus’ disciples knew following Christ was not going to be a cake walk for them, but in choosing do life with Him gave them a first-hand account of the miracles that only God can do.
God can work through you pray for and help the sick, injured, lonely, and lost around you, but you have to be willing. Willingness comes through having your mind right with God and living a life that reflects Him to the world.
When you walk in faith instead of fear, you will be able to hear His instructions. Are you walking in faith or fear today?
