Total Commitment

What are you totally committed to?

Many would answer that they are committed to their children, their spouse, their church, or maybe even their work.

What would it look like to be totally committed to Jesus?

Many of the disciples were fisherman, as were their fathers before them. For most of them it was what they enjoyed and they did it because it was all they knew.

When Jesus saw them fishing and called them to follow Him, He was asking them to leave what was familiar to them to do something they didn’t know.

Sometimes God will call you to abandon things, places, and jobs, for things that to us are uncertain.

What you must realize though is your life isn’t your own. This may come as a shock to some, but God saved you through His Son Jesus because He believed in you.

He created you with a purpose and had great plans for you before you even thought about the plans you had for yourself.

Why is it so hard then to be totally committed to Jesus? Because total commitment means total surrender.

We don’t want to give up everything we have to follow Jesus. Many have been following the idea of following Jesus, but not following Him.

He won’t ask everyone to leave their jobs and families and such, like the disciples, but He does ask for your obedience and commitment to Him.

What is keeping you from being all in for Christ, fully committed to Him?
