What drives you? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment with a team or working independently? Do you aim to climb the corporate ladder no matter what it takes knowing it will be the best for your career? Or do you do whatever it takes to make sure others benefit from what you do?
In the differences between what drives each of us, there is one common theme. Perspective. How you look at a situation or the position you find yourself in determines your goals.
God wants us to live an “others first” lifestyle. He made this evident in the life of His Son. Jesus lived His entire life wanting to help others. He healed them, guided them, and showed them how to treat people. You and I can learn from His example that in order to be first in the end, we must put others first now.
This doesn’t mean He doesn’t want us to do things and make choices that better ourselves. He wants you to live the best life possible for you, but He wants you to do it while letting Him lead. He saved us with the life, death, and resurrection of His Son.
We are to let Him show us our next steps in life, the ones meant for just you. Each person’s path is different, but one thing is the same. Practicing humility and loving others are keys to living a fulfilling life.
Are you living life for what you can get out of it or for what you can give and do for others?
