Learning Curve

What is the one thing kids fight about the most with their parents about school? They don’t want to come home and do any homework. As parents, it is our job to tell them how important it is to practice what they are learning.

Has someone ever told you, “If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it.” Your brain simply cannot hold every bit of information you learn in the course of your lifetime. If you learn skills and gain knowledge in an area, even if it is of interest to you, you will lose the knowledge if you choose not to regularly use it.

When you become a Christ follower, the only way you can know Him is to learn knowledge about Him. We were given instructions through the stories of others and through commandments and promises God has given us. All of this knowledge is included in the Bible—affectionately called our instruction book.

You can learn about the way He loves us, comforts us, protects us, provides for us, and so much more. But when you learn these important characteristics of Christ, it is necessary to put them into practice in your life.

Love others as He loves you. Comfort and stand up for others as Christ did for you. Provide for those who have little and let your life be a testimony of the sacrifice Christ made for us all. It’s better to give than receive and God did not impart all of this knowledge on you to keep it to yourself.

How could God work through you to help others know Jesus?
