When you see someone just going through the motions, you can tell their heart isn’t in their performance. Ultimately, you are not going to love or even enjoy everything you have to do and go through in life, but regardless it is all part of your life’s process.
How you react to things in your daily life is reflective of the condition of your heart. In the Bible, it is said that David shepherded the people with integrity of heart. What does that even mean?
It means he watched over and cared for those in his “flock” with morality and righteousness. He made sure that he used his skills to make an impact based on what he could do to help the people and not for what he could get out of the use of his skills.
It can be pretty easy in this world for you to become focused on what you can get out of this life instead of what you can give. David did not live a 100% pure and moral life, but even through his downfalls he made sure to go to God and repent for what he had done.
God knew his heart and He knows your heart. He created it to love and care for others. What does your performance say about the condition of your heart? Do you go through the motions to just get things done or do you do everything with God in mind? Be a Waymaker and make a kingdom-sized impact right where you are. Shepherd those under your care (children, co-workers, family members) with love and God in mind.
