With everything that’s gone on this year, it’s hard not to get wrapped up in watching the news. It’s good to keep up with current events, but you have to consider your source.
Some counsel isn’t reliable—like when writing an essay and you’re told not to use information from certain places. So where can we get the most reliable information that is relevant for how to live and what to believe right now?
News sources are good but they don’t know everything. The Word of God is as relevant for living today as it was when it was written and as much as it will be for the future.
The hustle and bustle of the season can quickly reduce your interactions with others to a generic “happy holidays,” but it doesn’t have to be. Be engaged enough to truly interact with others and show them the grace and love of God.
Choose to not get too caught up in what’s happening around you that you forget what Christmas is about. Jesus is God made flesh and He came to live among us. The biggest question to be asked shouldn’t be do you believe in Santa. It should be do you believe that Jesus is God in the flesh and He came to earth to save you?
This is the time of year when hopelessness turns into hope and despair turns into faith—by the grace of God. In His grace God sent Himself in the form of Jesus to become flesh and be one of us. He was and always will be full of only grace and truth.
