As a parent, I sometimes feel I’m too hard on my kids. In my mind though you are to help mold and guide them and they won’t always like you for it. If you are too busy trying to be your child’s friend above being the parent, they miss something.
God has entrusted the care of the next generation to us. They learn much from our example. This doesn't mean you have to be perfect, but having Christ as your foundation and living in such a way that gives honor and glory to Him allows others to see how to live their best life.
In a world rampant with fear, weakness, and broken plans and promises, it’s important to have hope. Faith is having confidence in something you hope for without seeing it. We can see this world, but there is nothing in it steady enough to put your lasting hope in.
Jesus alone is the only thing steady enough in which you can place your hope and trust. He makes you brave when you are afraid. He makes you strong when you are weak. He alone makes you persevere and endure when things are too tough to handle on your own.
When you’re rooted in Jesus Christ your life will reflect Him. This reflection will draw others to Him including those of the next generation. Don’t be swayed by the things of this world that will pass away.
