Reputation follows you. What you do and say matters right? Yes, to an extent. It matters not because what people think of you matters, but your motives and legacy can impact future generations.
You may say that it’s impossible to disregard what other people think and say about you and you may be right. Some things will stick with you either because they made you feel really good about yourself or really bad.
There is only one person whose opinion matters. God. Do you know what He says about you? He says you are wonderfully made. He takes delight in you. He says you are loved and stronger than you think you are.
The greatest part? He knows all your faults and mistakes that you have made and will ever make and He still loves you!
Don’t be afraid to be obedient and step out in faith to do what God asks you to do because you’re afraid of what others will think. Many things God told Jesus to do did not make sense to the people around Him, but He only cared what God thought about Him.
Your legacy will be established not by what you fail to do, but by your follow through of what God asks of you.
People may think you’re crazy for listening to God, but it would be more of a tragedy to know God and not listen to Him than to not know Him at all. Your eternal destination and earthly legacy honoring God is more important than your earthly reputation.
How are you leaving a positive legacy by listening and being obedient to the promptings of God rather than being concerned with what people say about you?
