All of us go through times and seasons where our confidence wanes. We find the assurance we stood on has fallen out from under us.
This world tries to sell you things that can give you a surface-deep sense of confidence. Beautification products and self-help tools are sold in high volumes. Why? We all want to improve ourselves.
Improving your outer appearance may make you feel better about yourself, but if you aren’t confident in who you are as a person it affects all aspects of your being. You are more than who you are on the outside.
We have all met someone who everyone can’t help but to stop and look at them when they enter a room—they’re just that attractive. You may think because your entrance doesn’t evoke that type of reaction you aren't as beautiful as them, but everyone has beauty inside of them.
When you start to compare yourself to others, it depletes your self-worth. You are not someone else and shouldn’t be compared to them or held to their standards.
Knowing who you are in Christ is a game changer. Having yourself rooted in Him and His promises allows you to step out boldly into the life He has planned for you. This inner fearlessness shows as outer confidence.
When you know you’re a child of God and a follower of Christ, your identity is in who He is and who He has created you to be—not in what the world expects of you. His blessed assurance gives you the assurance and certainty that no matter what happens in life you are not your mistakes and missteps.
Being confident in who you are in Him helps you to live your life in His presence. In His presence there is peace, joy, mercy, grace, and love. Does your confidence come from what the world sees of you or from who God is and who He has made you to be?
