We all have lists to complete whether it’s one you’ve made or been given by someone else.
But God isn’t a God of checklists. Following Him isn’t about marking off things from a list when you complete them each day—praying, reading His word, serving others.
All of those things are good and do help us grow closer to Him, but they aren’t just things to complete each day so you can have the satisfaction that they’re done.
God’s biggest command was to love Him with all you heart, mind, soul—your entire being. And then to love those around you as yourself.
Do you love yourself? We all have times when we don’t, but knowing who God says you are helps you to keep your eyes on His truths.
Treating others how you want to be treated means loving them how you wish to be loved. Be fair, just, in your interactions with others and show mercy to them as God has shown mercy to you.
Live humbly knowing God made us all and no one person is of greater worth than another. Jesus preached that we must go after the lost and marginalized.
If we don’t unite as a church and stand up for those who need to experience justice and mercy, we aren’t being love to those around us—being God’s hands and feet to a broken world.
How have you been able to share God’s love lately through being fair, merciful, and humble to those around you?
