Have you ever seen pictures or videos of rushing flood waters or terrible storms? It’s not uncommon to see a house being ripped from its very foundation and taken away.
One way to prepare for storms that may come is to secure your home on a solid foundation that is less likely to be compromised by high winds and flash flooding. Any good builder knows it’s better to build on solid rock than on shifting sand.
Jesus can be the firm foundation for your life if you let Him. Surrendering daily to what He wants for you allows you to gradually grow in faith and courage. As you are faithful in the small things, God will trust you with even bigger things.
Trusting in God doesn’t mean that life’s storms will never come your way. I guarantee you they will, but you will have built a foundation on He who is the only solid rock on which to build your life.
He will never leave you or forsake you. Every earthly possession you have could be taken from you in an act of nature, but if you put your faith and trust in Him, He will help you to not be shaken.
Sometimes you may have started out trusting Him and were stronger than a piece of steel, but life has warn you down and your choices have left you wondering how you could ever rebuild with Him.
No addiction, no bitter heart, and no series of bad choices and events could ever keep you from His love. All He is waiting for is for you to come to Him, repent (turn away) from all that you’ve been trying to achieve on your own, and trust Him to rebuild your life with Him as the rock.
Looking at your own relationship with Jesus, how strong is your foundation of trust and faith in Him? Would you withstand the storm?
