Whenever you travel by plane, they always give the safety explanation before takeoff. When the oxygen masks drop what is the first thing they say for you to do?
Take care of yourself first or you may not have the ability to take care of others around you.
The same is true when you offer correction to others. You don’t have to be perfect to offer constructive help.
The Bible says in James 5 that it is important as Christians to help someone who is wandering from their faith and walk with Jesus.
You are to warn them and not condemn or judge them. Sharing the truth in love to others not only shows them you care, but it lets them know God loves them.
Be vulnerable and allow them to see you aren’t perfect, but that God still loves you and has saved you. Don’t overlook the planks in your own eye—the ways you have and do fall short of God’s grace.
Letting others know about how God has changed your life gives you an opportunity to help them realize how much God can change their life.
