Have you ever promised someone something? It can be really hard to keep a promise. You are all human and therefore mistakes happen. This shouldn’t keep us from making promises. You and I just need to learn how to keep them.
Kids remember everything. They especially remember everything you promise them. This illustrates the innocence of children. God wants you to have this type of realization in your relationship with Him. He wants you to know that whatever He promises you, He is faithful to provide it.
The father of faith, Abraham, is a great example of God keeping His promises. God promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations. Abraham and his wife were unable to have children. They had been trying and trying without any results. So Abraham could have easily disregarded what God promised him—knowing that if he couldn’t have children then the promise could never come to pass.
However, Abraham did not waver in his faith. He had hope God would come through. You have to hold on to this same hope. Whatever God has promised you will happen. People will let you down from time to time. It’s just a fact of life, but God will never fail and His promises will never return void.
