What are you afraid of? We all have fears. Some seem pretty legitimate and yet some extend from the “what ifs” in your life. So the fear of the unknown can run rampant if you let it. The enemy prowls around looking for someone to devour. But I think so many have the devil all wrong.
When Christ overcame death and the grave, He overcame the devil. This means that he cannot physically touch and harm you. What is true though is that he can certainly prey on your mind—your thoughts, fears, and insecurities. When you sit and let the “what ifs” plague and worry you, you are actually giving the devil a way to affect your quality of life.
The only way to protect you from your fears, and subsequently from the devil preying on you, is to pray. If Christ has already overcome him, then it is Him we must go to for help. Anxiety, depression, and the like are at an all-time high. Why? Our nation has forgotten how to pray and how much power prayer can have in your life.
Prayer is our direct line to God. He’s always watching you, but not in a creepy way. He is watching you out of love and adoration because you are His creation. He wants nothing more than to see you prosper in His purpose for you. Fears can stand in the way of your freedom.
Moses led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. They were thankful to him and to God for delivering them from their bondage. However, at the first sight of trouble and uncertainty, they began to doubt and have fear for their future. The result? They never made it to the future that God had for them.
God wants you to finish well the future He has set before you. Don’t let fear and uncertainty rule over you. Give all of it to go and let it go once and for all! This is where freedom is found. What have you been holding on to that would finally give you the freedom you have so desperately been seeking?
