Artistic Expression

You may not think of yourself as being artistic, but we are all artists. Whether you are a potter, painter, sculptor, craftsman, musician, photographer, event planner, writer, or good at crafting and executing plans at the office, you are an artist—no matter your profession or hobbies.

God is often described as a potter and we are the clay. He molds and shapes us from nothing into exactly who we are meant to be. There are always things in our lives that will chip or crack the vessel He has molded us to be.

These things don’t define you, but they do enhance His original design. Other events or seasons you walk through may dull the shine or rub away some paint. It can be easy sometimes to allow outside impacts to determine your inner worth.

Pretty soon the exterior cracks run deep enough they threaten to change the original intent and usability of the potters piece. All seems lost. You can lose sight of dreams and promises—the makings of a good artist.

But all is not lost. You are never too marred—damaged or flawed—for the Potter to help you become renewed and restored. He’s in the business of making you new!

All you have to do is stop trying to go against what God intended for your life. Draw near to Him and He will love you and make you like new again. He will rebirth you into the life He intended for you all along.

Don’t let the world, or your past, present, or future push you around and mar you. You were made for more. Reach out to God today and ask and make your desire to be whole again known to Him.

He will awaken new dreams in you remind you of the promises He has spoken over your life. God has created you with a purpose and like any piece of clay, you have been molded to hold something. God wants to fill you to overflowing so that every area of your life will be touched by His love, grace, and mercy.

How has your life caused imperfections on the outside that have found their way in—causing hurt and pain only God can bring you back from?
